Introduction

The Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training  (CIFNET) based at Kochi/ Chennai/ Visakhapatnam offers Career Training to candidates in Vessel Navigator & Marine Fitter trades which are introduced by Directorate General of Employment & Training, Ministry of Labour, New Delhi under Craftsman Training Scheme of NCVT. Last Date to apply for receipt of applications for this course is 15th May 2015.

2. Duration of Course: The training duration of the course would be of 24 months.

3. Commencement of Course: The course is going to commence from 1st August 2015.

4. Type of Course: The course includes basic practical training on board fisheries vessels out at sea.

5. Stipend: The candidates who are selected for the above courses would be paid ₹ 1,500/- (One Thousand Five Hundred) as Stipend.

6. Who can apply? : 

Educational Qualification:

  • Essential: The candidates must be passed in 10th standard (SSLC) or equivalent examination with 50 Percent marks in Mathematics and Science individually. The candidates who are appearing for their 10th exams are also eligible to apply. But, the final selection would be made only on the basis of marks obtained in 10th.
  • Desirable: It is desirable to have 01 Year experience in Fishing.

Age: The candidates must lie between 16 to 20 years of age as on 1st August 2015. However, their is age relaxation of 5 years in upper age limit for SC/ ST candidates.

7. What to do for Admission? : For getting admission for the given trades, candidates have to appear for entrance examinations to be held on 20th June 2015 at following Centres:

  • Kochi
  • Chennai
  • Visakhapatnam
  • Kolkata
  • Delhi
  • Bhubaneshwar
  • Mumbai

8. Application Procedure:

(a) Get the Prospectus & Application Forms: Interested candidates may collect Application Forms & Prospectus from any of the below address:

  • Director, CIFNET, Fine Arts Avenue, Kochi- 682016.
  • Deputy Director, CIFNET Unit, 59, S.N. Street, Royapuram, Chennai- 600 013.
  • Deputy Director, CIFNET Unit, Beach Road, Visakhapatnam- 530 001.

By paying a fee of ₹ 300/- (₹ 150/- in case of SC/ST) through any of the following modes:

  • Demand Draft (DD): If the candidate is paying through DD, then DD must be drawn in the Favour of Senior Administrative Officer, CIFNET, Payable at Kochi- 682016 with a Self Addressed Stamped envelope of ₹ 15.
  • Cash Payment: The candidates may personally pay their fee by cash and collect their Application Forms & Prospectus from any of the offices listed above before 15th May 2015.

(b) After getting the Prospectus & Application Form:Candidates need to fill out the application form, attach documents in support of required educational qualifications, & send to the below mentioned address:

  • Director, CIFNET, Fine Arts Avenue, Kochi- 682016.

Candidates must note that the application must reach the above mentioned office before 15th May 2015.
